When two of my childhood friends got married and asked me to be in their wedding party (Maid of Honor, no big deal #humblebrag) I was so excited to see be a part of the day when they would make their lives, one. Fast forward 6 years later, these two beautiful people announced they're pregnancy and asked if I would take their photos. The feeling of excitement came back 10-fold, sprinkled with a little bit of humility and honor. This is a huge deal! This is their first pregnancy, their first official family photos. Needless to say, I was feeling the pressure to create something awesome.
This mom-to-be was one of my first subjects when I took up photography, so I knew the camera loved her, but more than just creating pretty pictures, I wanted to provide them with a great experience they deserved and make them feel comfortable enough to let the wave of excitement and love wash over them; and then, of course, get it all to come across in photos.
As soon as we met to discuss the session, they told me their vision and it totally vibed with the type of photographic art that I want to be creating for my clients. Aside from being friends, we were also a match made in heaven, stylistically.
We decided on Los Penasquitos Canyon Preserve as the backdrop for the photos. It was the perfect place. Living in San Diego, everyone of course loves photos by the beach. Finding more earthy and secluded locations can seem a bit challenging, but Los Penasquitos Canyon was perfect. So now, I will leave you to enjoy this beautiful family celebrate a new addition to their family. Baby Aria, I can't wait to meet you!
